                                 Your Supportive Team

BCS goes above and beyond the industry standards for our staff by requiring multi-stage interviews, background checks, and a commitment to kindness in staff performance evaluations. Each team member is required to be registered with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Consultants

Our program consultants perform initial and ongoing assessments, design programs, analyze program data, provide IEP support, and train and supervise parents and staff. They provide ongoing maintenance of each program book and are the point of contact for concerns. Our program consultants have a minimum of five years of experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis therapy to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Jennifer Ann Smith,
M.Ed., BCBA, LBA
Owner & ABA Program Consultant

Jennifer Smith attended Johns Hopkins University and received her Master's degree in Special Education/Severe Disabilities (2010).  She received a B.S. in Psychology from George Mason University (2004) and obtained a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Penn State University (2009).  Jennifer has been practicing in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2001. She began her career working as an ABA therapist and became a board certified associate behavior analyst (BCaBA) in 2007. She received her certification as a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) in 2011.  Jennifer established Behavioral Consulting Services, Inc. in 2008. She enjoys making a connection with each client that BCS serves and loves receiving direct feedback from the families that she works with. Although it has been a part of her personal philosophy for years, Jennifer formally integrated "kindness" into her company's commitment and philosophy in 2018. She is active as a Goodwill Ambassador for World Kindness USA, voluntarily committing to making marked changes in her immediate community to create a kinder world. Through her efforts in 2018, her children's elementary school became the first in the state of Virginia to adopt a kindness clause and commit to placing kindness on their agenda and in their curriculum. Jennifer's passion is to marry the science of behavior analysis with compassion and kindness. She is a citizen scientist for Kindness.org, an organization committed to developing science-based evidence for the positive influence of kindness. Jennifer's dream is to bring attention, education, and awareness to autism on a global scale.
